Research Survey: the lived experiences of autistic adults attending their general practitioner

Hello,

I am a master’s student in Health Psychology at NUI Galway under the supervision of Chris Noone and I am collecting data for my dissertation project. I am wondering if you can help me by distributing my survey within your organisation or help me by directing me elsewhere.

The topic I am investigating is the lived experiences of autistic adults attending their general practitioner. This is important as autistic people face significant healthcare inequalities and working to reduce these inequalities is necessary to improve individual’s quality of life and health.

The primary aims of my project is to gain insight into the reality faced by autistic people and to do so in a way which is respectful and accessible. To ensure this I am also working with autistic people on a co-researching panel as a form of public-patient involvement. This is to make sure I am able to conduct research that will be genuinely reflective of the autistic community in Ireland and will be hopefully useful too.

Thank you very much for giving your time and consideration to this email. I understand completely if you can’t help but I appreciate your time and hope to hear back from you.

   All the best,
