About what we do

What we do

Aspire Ireland (Aspire – The Autism Spectrum Association of Ireland) is a national autism support organisation and registered charity providing holistic supports to autistic individuals and the wider autism community across Ireland.

Since 1995, we have delivered over 30 years of person-centred, family-inclusive support, working with autistic people across the full autism spectrum, and across all life stages, identities, and support needs. Our role is to bridge the gap between diagnosis and independence, supporting autistic people to live self-directed, meaningful lives.

Our work is grounded in inclusion, autonomy, dignity, respect, and strengths-based practice, recognising autistic people as experts in their own lived experience.

Residential & Independent Living Supports

Aspire manages a Residential Service for autistic adults, focused on real-world outcomes. Through a person-centred model, we support individuals to build independent living skills, increase autonomy, and engage actively in their communities.

Individual, Family & Community Support

We support autistic individuals and their support networks, providing advocacy, guidance, and practical tools while also empowering autistic people to advocate for themselves. Our approach recognises that sustainable support extends beyond the individual to families, carers, and communities.

Employment & Social Enterprise

Through our award-winning social enterprise, Aspire Designs, we address the high unemployment rates within the autistic community by creating meaningful, supported employment pathways. Aspire Designs is a media and graphic design social enterprise providing:

  • Work experience for autistic graphic designers and artists
  • Vocational training and mentoring
  • Professional skill development
  • Pathways to employment and career progression

Our team also delivers bespoke design services, including accessible and easy-read guides, greeting cards, and visual communication resources.

Social Connection & Wellbeing

Loneliness and social isolation are significant challenges for many autistic people. Aspire facilitates autism-friendly social groups and support programmes for both adults and young people, creating inclusive spaces for connection, belonging, and peer support.

Training, Education & Awareness

Aspire is a trusted provider of Autism and ADHD Awareness Training for:

  • Workplaces and employers
  • Schools and colleges
  • Community and public services

Our training supports organisations to build inclusive, informed, and neuro-affirming environments, grounded in lived experience and best practice.

Resources & Accessible Information

We develop and share accessible resources, including easy-read materials, practical guides, and information to support autistic people and their families in navigating daily life, education, employment, and wellbeing.
