Dublin Pride 2025: Marching with Aspire Ireland

Aspire Ireland is proud to once again take part in the Dublin Pride Parade, and this year, we’re marching with a message: Pride should be accessible, inclusive, and joyful for everyone.

What is the Pride Month?

Pride Month is celebrated annually in June to honour the LGBTQ+ community’s history, achievements, and ongoing struggle for equality. It commemorates the 1969 Stonewall Riots in New York City, a pivotal event that ignited the modern LGBTQ+ rights movement. Throughout the month, events such as parades, festivals, and educational activities take place worldwide, promoting visibility, acceptance, and love.

In Ireland, Pride Month is marked by various events across the country, with the Dublin Pride Festival being a significant highlight. The festival culminates in the Dublin Pride Parade, scheduled for Saturday, 28 June 2025, starting at 12:30 PM. This year, the parade celebrates the 10th anniversary of landmark achievements in Irish LGBTQ+ rights, including the legalisation of same-sex marriage and the enactment of the Gender Recognition Act in 2015.

When exactly is pride day?

Pride Day typically refers to the main day of celebration during Pride Month, often marked by parades and festivals. In Ireland, the primary Pride Day is Saturday, 28 June 2025, coinciding with the Dublin Pride Parade, which starts at 12:30 PM from O’Connell Street and concludes at Merrion Square.

Dublin pride 2025 with Aspire

The Dublin Pride Parade is scheduled for Saturday, 28 June 2025, commencing at 12:30 PM. This event marks the culmination of the Dublin Pride Festival, which runs from 20 to 28 June 2025.

We know that for many autistic and neurodivergent individuals, large crowds and busy events can be overwhelming. That’s why we are creating a safe, supportive group within the parade, a space where you can be fully yourself.

Who can join us?

Anyone with additional needs, regardless of neurotype, is welcome to march with us. Whether you’re autistic, neurodivergent, disabled, or just need a little extra space, you’re invited.

There will be no need to queue to enter the Pride Village for persons with additional needs. We want you to be part of the celebration in a way that feels safe and supportive. There’s no pressure or judgment, but celebration, connection, and belonging.

We’ll be in the Red Section.

See dublinpride.ie/parade for full details.

Can you help as a volunteer?

We’re looking for volunteers to walk with us and offer light support. If someone in our group feels overstimulated or overwhelmed, your role would simply be to step aside with them and offer a calm presence until they’re ready to rejoin.

No professional experience required.

You just need a caring attitude, empathy, and willingness to be there.

How to Get Involved

Hope to see you there, whether you’re marching, volunteering, or just cheering from the sidelines!
