Aspire has been running Educational Drama Classes for the last five years. These classes are are a joint collaboration between Aspire and Dr. Carmel O’Sullivan and her research team of the School of Education , Trinity College Dublin.
Dr. O’Sullivan and her team have been investigating the use of drama in formal and non-formal educational settings for several years.
Drama in Education offers a heuristic experience enabling personal, social and emotional growth, whilst providing the opportunity of enhanced understanding and decision making.
Imaginative and engaging characters are presented in various dilemmas to the participants at the drama classes held each week between September and June at Carmichael House, North Brunswick Street in Dublin 7. Classes are run from September to June each year and consist of five classes with a total of fifty participants. Students are typically aged between 6 to 21 years.
